i) Home Visit – It has occupied the most important position of our Sangha’s activity. Though it was started with the small beginning long time back and we had enough struggle to sustain it and to develop it for all these years. But how Home visit by Community Health Guides (CHG), on totally voluntary basis from the villages is unthinkable for any other organization we come across so far. Vivekananda Swasthya Seva Sangha is proud to have 141 CHGs whose relentless work round the year by visiting 9436 families has covered.

PREVENTIVE PROGRAMMES -

This is one of the our prioritized schemes, planning and implementation of which takes shape from the outlook of prevention of diseases. Normally this programme is planned after commencement of treatment of disease by VSSS. In fact our rural health prevention programmes are based on WHO’s recommendation of eight criteria for primary health care in the villages. For last 31 years these activities are being carried  out in a sustainable manner resulting in remarkable change in the average health condition of villagers in our service area.

i)Family Welfare programme : This program under Preventive and Promotive services of the Sangha was carried out through door-to-door Home Visits by our village CHGs.

ii)RCH Following WHO and Govt. of Indian guideline VSSS has also taken up RCH as one of the important programmes of preventive and promotive activities.  Our Mobile Health Care Unit takes an important role on this RCH programme and it is getting popular day by day.

CURATIVE SERVICE - This is an important and sensitive area of our health care service. We started this scheme in the beginning and through this scheme only we have developed confidence and faith among the villagers. Although we give more importance today on preventive and promotive services but for all these 31 years curative service has never lost its relevance. This scheme is organized by two ways –

i) General Curative campsEvery Sunday curative camps are being organized with minimum two doctors, nurse and supportive volunteers & requisite medicines in different village centers of VSSS.  This year we have served 8,347 patients in Curative clinics, 678 patients in Specialized clinics  and 486 petients in Special clinics. Apart from this, we have also organized Emergency Medical camps during the year on various occasions serving a total no.of 499 patients.

The objective of this Unit is not only to offer curative service but to extend its services in the field of preventive and promotive aspects of health care like, immunization, antenatal & natal check up, etc  at the door-steps of rural people and also door-to-door home visits by the lady workers.
